Is i better to reinstall windows 7?

-I have a laptop that gets alot of error messages when i turn it on.So i took it to a local computer repair shop and the guy told me that it has viruses and the best thing to do is save all my data i dont want erased and reinstall the windows 7.Now is that the best thing to do rather than just deleting the viruses or do they make more money that way.Also he is going to charge $50 for that,is that a good price?Yes. Once you get viruses, the best thing that you can do is flatten the computer and reinstall the operating system. And install some virus protection this time around.



How much is your computer worth to you? You are obviously incapable of reinstalling the OS yourself, so you are going to have to pay someone. Don't cheap out and ignore this problem. You will only be spreading viruses to other people, by ignoring this, and that is not right.
50 dollars is a good price and yeah go ahead and do it, removing all the viruses could take hours and could cost much much more. just make sure he will reinstall drivers and set it all back up.

I charge 140 for a wipe and reload but i put all drivers back on update windows, put antivirus on and install most basic programs like flash and pdf viewer etc..
don't spend a dime.
