Microphone help? :( Windows Vista?

-I have a HP Pavilion Slimline Desktop with a built in mic and i had to disable it for something and when i re enabled it, it wont record what im saying. In Settings it is set as the default and everything. The green level bar doesn't move at all but there is a green check mark and it says "working" beside the mic. It isn't muted either :/ Any ideas how to help? :( Thank you in advance for your answers (:I had the same problem. I went in to the control panel and tweaked around with the settings for awhile, but I can't give you specifics.
