My computer has no signal after a storm.?

-I recently had a storm. before the storm my computer worked fine. after the storm the computer turns on(the light is on and i can hear it running), but my monitor says no signal. any suggestions?It does sound like you had a power surge. I always use a surge protector. But I take extra precautions. If you use dial-up, unhook the phone line during an electrical storm.



Even with wireless I never take chances. I unplug everything during a storm including the surge protector. I've had TVs, phones, answering machines and computers damaged during storms by power surges and they were all on surge protectors. Most recently I had to replace the modem on my computer.
I understand that the problem happened after a storm--so would seem storm related but a "No Signal" message is often caused by Memory that is not firmly seated in it's slot. Check it then try a restart.
