Question about a Raid 0 setup?

-Im going to buy a custom laptop from a website and they offer an option for a raid 0 config which combines the hard-drives for higher performance, i was wondering if the raid 0 setup is done by software and so if i was to wipe my laptop would the raid 0 be removed aswell?
