Why does my computer keep freezing and crashing?

-Well my computer freezes and then completely stops working AT LEAST once a day. But today I was reading some articles and doing some other things and my computer has done it like, five times in the past couple hours! When it unfreezes ever click causes stuff to stop responding. It takes me forever just to get the computer to restart! I'm sick of not being able to play a game, read articles, send emails, IM, or write my novel without stuff freezing! Why does it keep doing this? It's a Windows 7.Hello, Ryssa. Constant Shut downs could be caused by several things:



1) You could have out of date drivers

2) You could have a nasty virus. If that is the case:



Complete virus removal and cleansing:



Step 1: Download one or 2 of the following programs.



I would suggest you use both SPYBOT S&D and Microsoft security essentials. You need a real-time scanner and a prompted scanner

Step 2: Run a virus scan with the anti-virus or Malware Remover. This will take anywhere from 10 minutes to a few hours. It is all worth it at the end.



Step 3: If it detects viruses, remove the ones it tells you you have. You will have to restart your computer at this point.



3) Update your version of Windows 7

Sometimes Drivers don't detect older unupdated versions of Windows.It's very difficult to diagnose this way, but it could simply be that your power supply is too low or is failing, especially if it's original equipment. This would definately cause freezing.
