.bwp file extension how do I use in a readable english format?

-I have several files with the extension .bwp. They are associated with some medical technologies I believe to be from Germany. I can open them in Microsoft Wordpad, but it's all gibberish as if it needs to be encoded differently. I have searched google for hours and nothing comes up on this file extension. Does anyone know what this is and how to get it in a readable english format?
