Samsung chromebook questions?

-Is it a netbook or notebook?

Also I saw a video and when you turn it on it takes you right to the internet, does it not have a background where you can put your programs like a normal pc computer?

Any more info is greatly appreciated.

One more question.

Does it not come with Windows 7 because I saw it came with "Chrome OS" and I'm not sure whats that.

ThanksGoogle likes to think of Chromebooks as "The web on a computer like device."

Chromebooks run ChromeOS, which is Google's own Linux based operating system. They have been working on it since 2009, and in December 2010 sent out a large number of Cr-48 devices for beta testing.

It's partially correct to say that ChromeOS is just the Google Chrome browser running on the machine. You do have limited access to web applications through the Chrome Webstore online. There are not many offline applications yet, but the community is growing with HTML5 local storage and caching of data for offline use.

You have also have limited storage on board, it only has a 16 GB SSD. However you may store your documents and photos online on cloud based services. Many people confuse that as "You have to use Google."

If you have a Facebook account and you upload all your photos there, you're using a cloud based service. Same with Flickr, Picasa(Google owned), and any of the Twitter related photo services. As for documents you're not limited to Google Docs. Microsoft does have an online document suite, though I've not tried it.

There are not any native running programs on the devices, they are secondary devices that are meant for web usage.
the speed which those crappy notepads with their dead CPU makes the user lose his mind.

get an IPAD .the price/performance ratio is really a deal not to mention the weight and the battery autonomy. which is ten times more than any laptop/notebook ever made
