How to save a document on a mac?

-i have a macbook air and i just downloaded iworks onto my computer. i just tried using pages which is like their form of microsoft word. i have no idea how to save the work i've done. the only reason i know of is closing the page and then it gives me an option to save my work or delete it all. i have no problem right now with this but im scared that in the future i might accidentally click delete. can anyone help me?You're doing it just fine. What you are doing works. You can also go to the FIle menu and choose a save option.
